Some kids will always fight their fruits and veggies when it comes to eating, but CHI St. Alexius Health may be able to help.
Third through fifth grade kids were invited to participate in a cooking class.
CHI St. Alexius Health’s head chef talked about healthy food choices and how to prepare them.
The cooking class focused on how to prepare simple, fun and healthy snacks for the whole family to enjoy. While the kids were cooking the adults were given an educational tour of Dan’s Supermarket.
The tour taught how to shop with a plan, buy on a budget, read food labels and healthy recipes.
“It’s really fun, the kids really like it. It gives them some different knowledge. Just some fun experiences in the kitchen,” says Duane Ehrens.
There were two cooking sessions today.
There will be two sessions again on March 19. Click here to register.
