St. Alexius Enters into Management Agreement with Wishek Community Hospital

St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck has entered into a management agreement with Wishek Hospital and Clinic Association (WHCA). Mary Schwartzenberger, board president of WHCA, says this agreement is not a change of ownership as WHCA will continue to utilize its board of directors combined with the added resources and leadership of St. Alexius Medical Center in an effort to continue to bring high quality patient care to south central North Dakota. “St. Alexius will assist Wishek Community Hospital with the placement of a CEO as well as help with physician recruitment.”

According to Gary P. Miller, president and CEO of St. Alexius Medical Center, these are challenging and exciting times for healthcare in North Dakota. “By working together, St. Alexius and Wishek Community Hospital can maintain strong local care and strong tertiary care. This will enhance our ability to serve patients better.”
