The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department
is staffed Monday – Friday with specialized therapists providing
exercise, education and personal counseling. To contact Pulmonary
Rehabilitation call 701-530-8530 or page beeper 0814 to schedule

staff personnel.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program
features a medically supervised schedule of exercise and personal
counseling. This combination of physical fitness and health education
help people with chronic lung disease maximize their
lifestyle while minimizing the disabling effects of the disease.
Upon referral to the program, each
participant goes through an evaluation to determine and document their initial level of physical
condition.
Next, the pulmonary rehabilitation team
develops an individualized exercise program based on goals outlined in the
evaluation stage. Upon completion of the conditioning program, the
participant undergoes a re-evaluation as a means of documenting progress.
From this evaluation, a maintenance program is developed to assure
continuance of their progress.
The Staying Stopped program for smoking
cessation is also available to employees and the general public. Each
session is six weeks long and the program is offered every twelve weeks.

1). Developing a plan
