Extend-A-Care
St. Alexius Home Care developed Extend-A-Care to provide additional home services so people are able to remain safely in their homes. The goal of this state-licensed program is to maintain clients at their highest level of independence in the comfort of their own homes.
Clients determine the duration and intensity of the services they desire. An in-home nursing assessment visit is available to determine the program which best meets a client's needs. Family members are encouraged to participate in the assessment process.
Extend-A-Care is a designated Quality Service Provider in central and western North Dakota. This is a state funded program that is available for senior citizens and people with disabilities who are in need of the services offered but need financial assistance.
All staff providing services are routinely supervised by a registered nurse and receive on-going training.
Services are available through Extend-a-Care include, but are not limited to:Homemakerhousekeeping

meal preparation
grocery shopping
errands
laundry
accompany to/from medical appointments
Personal Care Attendantsassistance with bathing and dressing
assistance with exercise and ambulation
monitoring medications
monitoring blood pressure and blood glucose
assist with simple dressing changes
assist with compression stockings
Maintenance nursingvenipuncture
mediplanner set-up
maintenance assessment
