Regional Renal Services Center of Excellence
Dialysis Services In 1973 St. Alexius started the first dialysis unit in Western North Dakota which now has 19 state-of-the-art dialysis stations. The St. Alexius dialysis unit provides comprehensive management and therapy options for all stages of kidney disease and kidney failure. This includes acute and chronic dialysis as well as home peritoneal dialysis and training.
In 1988 dialysis units were started at Mercy Medical Center, Williston and at st. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. These units have 7 dialysis stations and provide chronic dialysis services for people in these rural communitites.
St. Alexius dialysis units offer a team approach to caring for our patients. Physicians, nurses, social workers and dietitians work together to provide a comprehensive care plan to help patients maintain their quality of life.
