Occupational Therapy

Everyday,

people develop illnesses or suffer injuries that keep them from carrying out

daily activities. Occupational therapy helps people to regain

flexibility and strength to be able to perform with decreased pain to the best

of their abilities.

Occupational

Therapy at the St. Alexius Center for Integrated Medicine provides functional

evaluation and intervention programs for those in chronic pain from:

  • Repetitive

    use injuries

  • Traumatic

    injuries (whiplash)

  • Migraines

  • Muscle

    tension headaches

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Carpal tunnel

    syndrome

  • Multiple

    Sclerosis

  • Arthritis

  • Neck & Back

    pain

  • Jaw pain

    (TMJ)

  • Scar

    tissue/adhesions (mastectomy, abdomen and pelvic)

  • Frozen

    shoulder

  • Scleroderma

The therapist uses a whole body hands-on approach to evaluate and treat the

muscle and connective tissues of the body. It has been found that it is far

more effective to treat the whole body and its important inter-relationships

than merely focus on one or two joints at a time.

The Center for

Integrated Medicine uses today’s latest techniques and treatments. Here are

some examples:
