The conference will present the latest information on end-of-life, Alzheimer’s and health-related issues affecting senior adults. General session and workshop speakers will present information, identify challenges and suggest appropriate responses to health-related and end-of-life concerns and Alzheimer’s disease.

At the conclusion of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss information on healthcare, end-of-life and Alzheimer’s related needs of senior adults.
  • Identify health-related challenges and appropriate responses.
  • Describe state perspectives on services delivery issues.
  • Identify methods for professional caregivers to better manage stress in the work environment.

AUDIENCE
Social workers, clergy, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and other health care professionals, and any other professionals who provide health-related and supportive services to senior adults, Alzheimer’s and end-of-life patients. Family members and seniors may also benefit from attending.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
St. Alexius Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by CNE-Net, the education division of the North Dakota Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Application has been made for 9.25 contact hours.*

North Dakota Long Term Care Association is an approved provider of continuing education for North Dakota licensed nursing home administrators. Participants can earn up to 9.25 contact hours.*

Social workers will receive 9.25 CEUs.*

Certificates of attendance will be issued to other participants.

*An additional 2.0 contact hours/CEUs will be awarded if attending the Thursday evening “Family Caregiving Workshop”.

REGISTRATION
The registration fee is $135 for both days. This includes materials, lunch and health breaks.

Registration cannot be shared by individuals. Payment must accompany registration form. Without payment, you will not be considered registered.

Registration deadline is Friday, October 1, 2010. If registration is postmarked after this date, there will be a $25 additional charge, or a $160 registration fee. Onsite registration fee is $160, space permitting.

Cancellation: The registration fee less $20 will be refunded to you if you choose to cancel before October 1, 2010. Conference fee may be transferred to another person without penalty. No refunds will be given if requested on or after October 2, 2010.

Program Changes: St. Alexius Medical Center reserves the right to make program changes or cancel the conference. In the event of cancellation, only those who pre-register will be notified and their fees will be refunded in full.
