Michael Schmit, MD
Dr. Schmit joined Mid Dakota Clinic PrimeCare in July 2004, as a specialist in general and vascular surgery. He also performs weight loss surgery. A native of Minot, North Dakota, Dr. Schmit received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Minot State University and his medical degree from the University of North Dakota. He completed his surgical residency at the University of North Dakota and affiliated hospitals. Dr. Schmit received a number of scholarships throughout his years of education. He received the Senior Merit Award and was on the Presidential Honor List and National Dean’s List. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Schmit is also a member of the American Medical Association and the North Dakota Medical Association. Board-certified in his specialty field of surgery, Dr. Schmit is licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Dakota.
