The St. Alexius Medical Center Hospitalist Fellowship is a one-year program in collaboration with the University of North Dakota. The Program offers a rich clinical and educational experience for graduates of Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency programs.

Fellows will rotate through five months of Hospitalist service; two months of Pulmonary/Critical Care, one month each of Cardiology, Transitional Care (including Home Health/Hospice), Critical Access Hospital/ER, Hospital Management/Medical Staff Leadership (Quality, Safety, UR, Infection Prevention, etc…), and one month of electives. At the end of one year, fellows will be expected to have competent skills to manage in-patients with primary medical care issues including procedures related to such care and be able to provide physician leadership in the hospital.

Fellows will also participate in teaching of medical students and Family Medicine residents, Grand Rounds and Journal Club.
This position will provide a full salary plus excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and liability coverage, vacation, CME and sick leave.

Eligibility

  • Successful completion of Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency Program.
  • Unrestricted license or eligibility for an unrestricted license in North Dakota.
  • Eligibility for medical staff privileges at St. Alexius Medical Center (this includes board certification or achieving board certification within 5 years of graduation from residency program.
