Community Health and Wellness Screening Services |
Health screenings are not intended to replace a consultation with your physician. The goals of a health screening are to alert people of a health risk that might otherwise go undetected and recommend follow up with a physician as needed. The St. Alexius Community Health and Wellness Program provides education on the risk factors that increase one’s chances of developing a health condition as well as lifestyle choices that can help reduce those risks. |
Wellness Screenings – The wellness screening is designed to identify those at risk for developing heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis.
The screenings include:
Participants should fast at least 2 hours prior to having their blood drawn. 2012 Wellness Screening Schedule – Screenings are generally scheduled for the last Wednesday of the month.
A $15 fee will apply for the glucose, cholesterol and the bone density scan. The fee will cover all three tests or $15 for any one test. Pricing is subject to change. Appointments can be made by calling 530-5550. |
Vascular Screening – This screening focuses on common problems found in the arteries outside the heart.

Memory Screening – Memory loss is considered the number one concern among older adults. This screening assists in identifying people who may have a memory problem and who require follow up with a physician or qualified healthcare professional.
The screening consists of a series of questions and tasks that check one’s memory, language skills and thinking ability. Appointments can be made by calling 530-7749. |
Obstructive Sleep Apnea Screening – Obstructive sleep apnea refers to a blockage of the upper airway during sleep that causes one to stop breathing periodically. Are you tired after a full night’s rest? Do you snore? Are you tired throughout the day? Do you think you may have obstructive sleep apnea?
The consequences of untreated sleep apnea are as follows:
Screening consists of height, weight, blood pressure and neck circumference, followed by a sleep assessment conducted by a registered sleep technologist. Appointments can be made by calling 701-857-8029. |
