On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, CHI St. Alexius Health welcomed The Most Revered David D. Kagan, D.D., P.A., J.C.L., Bishop of the Diocese of Bismarck, for his annual pastoral visitation. Bishop Kagan was greeted by Prioress of Annunciation Monastery and CHI St. Alexius Health’s Board President Sr. Nancy Miller, OSB, and Joe Messmer, CHI St. Alexius Health interim president. Bishop Kagan presided over a Eucharistic Liturgy in the Chapel; followed by a special luncheon in Boniface Auditorium.
Bishop Kagan visited and blessed The Children’s Unit, Alex Town. Alex Town is named after CHI St. Alexius Health’s mascot Alex the Cat. This kid-friendly unit provides general and critical care services for pediatric patients up to 18 years of age. Alex Town is decorated in bright colors, a road that winds throughout the city and a well-stocked playroom making this a unique place for children. The unit’s professional team is recognized for their compassion, dedication and commitment to their patients and their families.
The annual pastoral visitation is an opportunity for the bishop to visit CHI St. Alexius Health and highlight what it means to be a catholic healthcare provider.
