CHI St. Alexius Health Opens New Dialysis Unit in Dickinson

CHI St. Alexius Health opened its new dialysis unit in Dickinson on Thursday, May 7, 2015. The unit contains seven stations and is located on the ground floor of CHI St. Joseph’s Health on 2500 Fairway Street. Patients can access the unit from either the hospital or clinic entrance.

“Many individuals and departments from both institutions worked together to plan, build, move and open this unit,” said CHI St. Alexius Health’s renal services clinical coordinator in Dickinson, LuAnn Berger, BSN, RN, “Much thought went into making this unit aesthetically pleasing and our dialysis patients will enjoy the four large skylights as they provide great natural light.”

“We are really pleased to have the dialysis unit up and running here in the new facility,” stated Reed Reyman, president of CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson. “It’s been very nice to see familiar faces of dialysis patients and staff back under the same roof as the hospital and clinic.  It allows the community access to more healthcare services at a single location.”

According to Dr. Radu Raducu, nephrologist with CHI St. Alexius Health, the seven stations can dialyze a total of 14 patients in one day. The unit is open from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Dr. Raducu is a visiting specialist from Bismarck who sees dialysis patients two days a month in Dickinson.
