Volunteer Services

Welcome to the Volunteer Program at CHI St. Alexius Health. Volunteers are an important part of our health care system. They are committed to providing services to patients, families of patients, and staff. The efforts of our volunteers don’t go unnoticed. They provide the “extras” that would otherwise be impossible to offer.

If you enjoy meeting people and would like to volunteer in a caring, hospitable environment, we would enjoy hearing from you. We are dedicated to our mission to “Let all be received as Christ.” Our sponsors, the Benedictine Sisters, inspire us to extend hospitality to all who enter our facility.

There are numerous volunteer opportunities at CHI St. Alexius Health including:

  • Waiting Room Hosts
  • Escorts
  • Hospice Companions
  • Gift Shop Attendants
  • Alex the Cat

The Auxiliary is the fund-raising arm of the Medical Center volunteers. Auxiliary activities include operating the gift shop, sponsoring the annual bazaar, and hosting jewelry and bedding/blanket sales. The proceeds from these activities are donated in support of projects enhancing patient and visitor welfare. Auxiliary members also share their talents in handwork, creating holiday tray favors for patients and prayer blankets. The Auxiliary holds a monthly business meeting. While not a requirement, volunteers are invited to join the Auxiliary.

Volunteers do make a difference at CHI St. Alexius Health! Adult men and women, teenagers, and college students with a desire to serve others are welcome to inquire about the volunteer opportunities available. Not only is volunteering a service to others, but a fulfillment of caring.
