The Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology Labs (EP Lab) provide diagnostic and
interventional cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures as
required in examination, care and treatment of medical center inpatients and
referred outpatients. Patients served in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab are
predominantly adult and geriatric. Occasionally an adolescent patient may be
served. The Cardiac Cath Lab frequently performs diagnostic left and right
heart catheterizations, Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty’s and
cardiac stent placements. Electrophysiology studies along with pacemaker and
Internal Cardiac Defibrillator implants are performed in the
Electrophysiology lab.
