Acceleration at the Human Performance Center

Today many insurance companies do not cover the costs of providing therapy and the necessary conditioning to safely return an injured athlete to functional independence. The Bridge Program was created in order to bridge the gap between therapy and a complete functional return to activity. This program will benefit individuals of all ages and abilities. The program is a unique of combination therapy, Acceleration training and practicing specific sport skills.

The program consists of three progressive levels with eight sessions to each level. Each session is personalized to a client’s abilities and is administered under the direction of the HPC’s Acceleration staff.

The Program Components:

  1. Forward and Backward incline running.
    – Forward incline running will improve cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility. Proper running mechanics will be reviewed and relearned. By utilizing the Super Treadmill stress to the vulnerable joints will be reduced by 30%.
    – Backward incline running provides an unique method of training specific motor control patterns and improving functional strength at sport specific velocities.
     
  2. Plyometrics
    – Increased efficiency of the neuromuscular system and improved body awareness are just a few of the well documented benefits of plyometric exercise.
     
  3. Agility &Multidirectional Training
    – These exercises improve body awareness and decrease improper movement patterns while relearning appropriate motor patterns.
     
  4. Strength Training
    – The overall affect of the Bridge Program will influence the strength of the core, hip girdle, and leg muscles.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Entire Program

The program consists of 25 sessions with each session lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. The majority of the first hour is with the trainer, and the last 30 minutes will be used for independent strength training. It will take approximately 2.5 to 3 months to complete the program. It is recommended that only two or three sessions be performed per week. This program is not covered by insurance.

Level One – First Nine Sessions
First Visit – Initial Evaluation 2 to 9 sessions – Training Sessions

Level Two – Next Eight Sessions
1 to 8 Sessions – Training Sessions

Level Three – Next Eight Sessions
1 to 8 Sessions – Training Sessions
