Abdomen – Pelvic Complete Please report to Admitting 15 minutes before your scheduled exam time. PREP: A full urinary bladder is required by drinking fluids or giving I.V. fluids. PURPOSE: Abdomen – Pelvic Complete is performed for pelvic pain, IUD placement, suspected torsion, vaginal bleeding in post-menopausal women, abnormal or absence menses or ovarian cyst. WHAT TO EXPECT: Patient will be scanned lying down on a cart. A gel (lotion) will be applied to the area being scanned. A series of images will be obtained which will be read by a Radiologist. TIME FRAME: 15 – 30 minutes POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS: None IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, INFORM THE TECHNOLOGIST BEFORE THE EXAM. |
