The staff at St. Alexius Pain Clinic offers proven therapies ranging from conventional treatments to new innovations, all to most effectively control your pain. Our dedicated and caring providers specialize in managing chronic pain, restoring function and improving your quality of life.

  • Complex regional pain syndrome or reflex sympathetic dystrophy
  • Thoracic arthritis, stenosis or disc disease
  • Lumbar spine arthritis, stenosis or disc disease

  • Cancer pain
  • Knee pain and arthritis
  • Shoulder/elbow pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
Common interventions we offer:

After a comprehensive interview and physical examination and review of diagnostic tests, we may offer one or more of the following interventions:

Physical Therapy:
  • To reduce muscle pain/tension

  • To encourage a return to optimal daily function
Spinal injections:
  • Facet blocks
  • Epidural steroid injections
  • Nerve blocks
  • Radiofrequency ablation
Spinal cord stimulation

Implantable pain pumps

Joint injections:
  • Shoulder/elbow wrist
  • Hip/knee/ankle
Pharmocologic treatment

We may prescribe opiods (narcotics) for pain management although we are aware of the potential for addiction in many patients. Although these medications may be necessary for some patients, we strive to find more successful alternatives to treat pain (as outlined above). Our primary efforts will focus on returning patients to a productive and enjoyable lifestyle and eventually transfer their care to their primary caregiver.
