Mission

Through the use of telecommunications
technology and health care professionals, our telemedicine network
exists to enhance the quality of and access to health care for the
people we serve.

    Today’s
physician can cover hundreds of miles
and
see several patients in less than an hour without ever leaving his
clinic. This remarkable feat is possible in North and South Dakota
thanks to the TeleCare Network. Telemedicine service is offered
by St. Alexius Medical Center in cooperation with the PrimeCare
Health Group and rural health care providers throughout the Dakotas.

   Rural
health care providers and their patients can meet face-to-face with
St. Alexius physicians via two-way “live” television. The
physicians are able to consult, examine, and implement patient
care plans immediately and the patient never has to leave their rural
community.

   Whether
it is a routine or emergency visit, teleradiology, EEG, EKG transmissions
to remote fetal monitoring, the benefits of telemedicine are unlimited.
Quality, efficiency and delivery of care is enhanced and strengthened.

St. Alexius is committed to continuing their tradition of enhancing
the quality and access to healthcare.
