Welcome to the Volunteer Program at St.
Alexius Medical Center. Volunteers are an important part of our health
care system. They are committed to providing services to patients,
families of patients, and staff. The efforts of our volunteers don’t go
unnoticed. They provide the “extras” that would otherwise be impossible
to offer.
If you enjoy meeting people and would like to volunteer in a caring,
hospitable environment, we would enjoy hearing from you. We are
dedicated to our mission to “Let all be received as Christ.” Our
sponsors, the Benedictine Sisters, inspire us to extend hospitality to
all who enter our facility.
There are numerous volunteer opportunities at St. Alexius including:
- Waiting Room
- Hosts
- Escorts
- Hospice Companion
- Clerks
- Gift Shop Attendant
- Alex the Cat

The Auxiliary is the fund-raising arm of the Medical Center volunteers.
Auxiliary activities include operating the gift shop, sponsoring the
annual bazaar, and hosting book and art fairs. The proceeds from these
activities go to the Foundation for designated projects. Auxiliary
members also share their talents in handwork, creating holiday tray
favors for patients, prayer shawls, and quilts. The Auxiliary holds a
monthly business meeting, which includes an education session. While not
a requirement, volunteers are invited to joining the Auxiliary.
Volunteers do make a difference at St. Alexius! Adult men and women,
teenagers, and college students with a desire to serve others are
welcome to inquire about the volunteer opportunities available. Not only
is volunteering a service to others, but a fulfillment of caring.
