Ultra Sound of the Breast PREP: None PURPOSE: Breast ultrasound is done in conjunction with a mammogram to look at the structures and tissue of the breast such as cysts or nodules. WHAT TO EXPECT: You will be asked to lie on a scanning cart for the exam. A warm gel will be applied to your breast and the technologist will move a hand-held transducer across the breast. TIME FRAME: 30 minutes POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS: None |
